Waiting on God

"Waiting on the Lord is having the understanding that God's vision and perspective has always been futuristic. How He views us is always futuristic. We look at ourselves in our present state and present condition and we get discouraged and get weary in well doing. We need to begin to see ourselves as God sees us. He sees us in our "shall be" state." - Black

Hey Michelle, I think you're right. As someone pointed out we have to think of the historical context of the time that Paul was writing about. It's like when he said that women shouldn't speak in church. Some people still hold that to be true today.

I HAD A VISION

By Pastor Dave Burrus

In 1998, I had vision, it was just like if God was chatting to me, I was just praying and a glow came over me, something that has never happened before or since come to that. In that vision God was saying to me, to reach out to the remote parts of India with the Good News and also reach out and help the very poor children in India, not just with their every day needs but to help them receive an education so it will help lift them from this poverty that they are trapped in.… Continue

Who is Blessed?

Who is blessed?
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven”.
(Mathew 5:3)
These words of Jesus may seem a little bit strange to us. What most of us would probably expect Jesus to say is:
Blessed are the good people.
Or, blessed are those who are spiritually rich.
Why would Jesus declare the ‘spiritually poor’ to be blessed?
Surly God only loves people who do good or who are religious?
To answer these questions we need to look at some of the other things Jesus said, and… Continue

The Warrior's Internal Dialog (poem)

Michelle Reed
Struggle and Transition Poems
(c) 2009

All souls must be born
All will fall short
Some will fall away

Warriors will fight
The good fight
Against the children of evil
On the other side
There's no saving them
So why even try?

BUT WAIT!
We were all once
following
The prince of the air
Our own lusts
Until by Grace
we were saved
Us saints are not saints at all if we won't save another.

Brother!
Even that wicked one
who wanted me dead?
Wanted me broken?
To live up to their demonic dr… Continue

The Storm is Over Now!

Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Joy comes in the morning. If you are feeling sad today, just hold on, keep breathing, keep living. You can do it!

If you feel week, just pray "Jesus". That's all. I am praying for everyone at the ink well, that you will feel God's loving comforting embrace and that you will have peace. You'll be able to sing "the storm is over now" very soon. God ble… Continue

Trusting Jesus in Your Storms

Trusting Jesus in Your Storms
By Marion L. Jones

He'll speak to the storms that you are in
When He talks everything and all things listen
He's a voice crying out for you in the wilderness
Open your hearts and minds, don't resist

Call On Him

It's hard to pray when the storm is in you
Don't know up from down or what to do
A tidal wave is coming and you have no clue
Jesus the answer and you say who?

Sometimes you have to sing out,
"Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wrench like m… Continue

Prayer against depression | You are prayed for.

Father God I declare all hindrance and obstacles from the enemy during this time of their celebration to be broken and crushed and destroyed, Let NOT your people be touched by depression, oppression "cancel" all fiery darts against your inheritance. We plead the blood of the Lamb over our family and friends, in our homes and over everything that you have blessed us with. Let the authority in your blood destroy the plans of the wicked one and all opposing spirits in Jesus name

The Challenges of Coping with Depression and Anxiety

Major Depressive Disorder is one of the most frequently diagnosed mental health issues in the United States. Generalized Anxiety Disorder is also a challenge many people tackle with. We do live in fast-paced society (mainly depending on where you live) and there are several expectations and responsibilities placed upon the individual. In order to not let life circumstances be consuming, it is very important to be aware if symptoms are slowly building. Therefore, to create an awareness, I have ge… Continue

Self-Injury and Teenage Females: Are You Aware?

After engaging in private counseling practice for several years and working in residential treatment facilties for youth, I reflected back to consider the various types of client issues that seemed most prevalent. Well, challenges with depression, anxiety, and relationships were certainly prevalent but teenage girls presenting with self-injurious behaviors often sought treatment and were recommended by primary care physicians or school officials. Self-injury is used as a form of coping for sympt… Continue
